In the news we have been hearing a lot about the swine flu. The swine influenza virus appears to be spread from one person to another. Swine influenza viruses are not transmitted by food. A person cannot get swine flu from eating pork products. The population of the United States is approximately 304,000,000. The reported cases of swine flu in the U.S. was last reported somewhere around 70. Therefore, the chance that you may get this strain is .0000002326.
The best way to avoid getting sick is through prevention. Boost your immune system by making sure to wash your hands and practice proper hygiene. Stay in good general health and get plenty of sleep and exercise, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food.
Research shows that getting adjusted by a chiropractor can boost your immune system. A study done by Dr. Ronald Pero, Ph.D, chief of cancer prevention research of NYU Preventive Medicine Institute measured the immune systems of people under chiropractic care as compared to those in general population and those with other serious diseases. The chiropractic patients were found to have a 200% greater immune competence than those people in the general population who have not received care and a 400% greater competence than those with cancer and other serious diseases. Dr. Pero also found the immune system superiority of those under chiropractic care did not appear to diminish with age. Make sure chiropractic is part of your prevention plan.
